Lazy Day
.jpg)
These past few days have felt really slow and lazy! We haven't left the house or really done much. Today we went outside for a while to wait for Mike to come home. We enjoyed the welcoming temperatures a lot! Paxton loved eating the dirt and flowers. Lyric wanted to take Paxton on a walk all by herself, but I told her that probably wasn't such a great idea!
I Want To....

Paxton has become very opinionated. He knows when there is something he wants, and he gets mad if can't have it! Last night, Lyric and Lexi were taking a tubby. Paxton crawled in the bathroom, and immediately wanted to join them! He was standing at the tub trying to climb over it! I love his new little personality coming out!

3?
A bottle of nail polish spilled on the chair, carpet, and Paxton
A whole roll of toilet paper undone in the kitchen
A glue stick taken to the couch I have always heard about the "terrible twos." Well, I think that term was invented before the "threes" were experienced! I am about half-way through the threes, and, unless my memory is failing me, they are far more challenging then the twos! My daughter has been blossoming in every way possible, both good, and, I hate to say, also a little bad!
Lately, I feel like I have a ten month old and an eighteen month old. She is doing a bit of reverting. The above pictures are just a few of the fun things she has been doing lately. I get comfort when Jamie tells me that her girls still do things like this too!
Happy Birthday!
Mica

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to go to Mica's wedding reception. I went along with Jamie, Jordyn, Lexi, and Paxton. Mica is one of my close friends that I have known my whole life. We lived a few hours from each other, so we would visit several times a year. During our sophomore year of high school, she lived with my family. Over the past few years, we haven't done a very good job at keeping in touch, but she is just one of those friends where you can pick right up with!
I am so glad that we were able to go. She just looked so pretty! I am so happy for this huge milestone in her life. It made me wish I had about twelve hours to sit and catch up! We promised to do a better job at keeping in touch!

Swimming Begins!
.jpg)

The other day, we went to my parent's pool to try and escape the heat! I think this will be the summer that Lyric gains a little confidence with the pool. Last summer, she had no interest. This was Paxton's first time in the pool. By the looks of the picture, you wouldn't really know his reaction to the pool! He literally sat there like that the whole time, probably at least 30 minutes. I know he liked he, he was just ultra relaxed! He then enjoyed, or should I say demolished, a tootsie pop! We look forward to summer swimming at grandma and grandpa's!
Hosin' Off
Twelve Hours
My dad with his two older sisters and his mom
Kristy was able to join us, she lives only a few minutes from the place we ate at
Mom Shirl with Paxon, he had quite the large cracker shoved in his mouth!
Cute Mom Shirl!.jpg)
Everyone, minus Kristy!
This past Saturday, my dad, Jamie, Paxton, and I, did a day trip down to Southern Cali. We went for my Mom Shirl's (my dad's mom), 82nd birthday. We met some of my relatives at a restaurant for lunch. It was a very enjoyable time. I had not seen a lot of them in a really long time. It was their first time meeting Paxton too! It is such a head trip to see grandparents getting older. I have them stuck looking a certain way in my head, probably what I remember them looking like when I was a child. We were able to eat and talk for about three hours.
My grandma and I with her two canes my mom got for her
My dad kept having to take dirt clods out of Paxton's hands, he thought they looked quite yummy to take a bite out of!
Afterwards, we just had to stop by my grandma's (my mom's mom), for a short visit since we were so close to her house. She was sitting on her front porch when we pulled up. I could tell that my mom had recently visited, due to all of her goodies in stock! Grandma turns 80 this year.
The day went very well. Paxton was a little trooper, considering he was either in a car seat or a restaurant the whole day!

Why I Don't...

The above picture is the reason why I hand wash Paxton's bottles, 98.9% of the time. Once in a great while, they'll be some extra room in the dishwasher, so I'll throw a few in.
The other night, I was leaving the computer room to go to bed. I walked out and smelled the worst smell and saw smoke. I seriously thought part of the house was on fire! I freaked out trying to find what was causing the smell and the smoke. At first, I thought it was the dryer. Then, I opened the dishwasher, and a ton of smoke came out. I looked at the bottom and saw this wonderful bottle! I was glad that was all that was causing the smell and smoke!
Another lesson to me to always hand wash bottles!
One Down!
This past Tuesday, Mike finished his first semester back to school. He now has a solid three month break! He enjoyed being back in the groove that school puts him in. There was a little more on his plate this time then when he was going to school before, but he balanced it all very well!
I feel very proud of him for his accomplishments. He is one of the most self-motivated people I have ever met. Due to an unsteady upbringing, Mike had to learn to either sink or swim from a very young age. He chose to swim, and has never looked back since! He has accomplished more things without parental support than I have ever seen anyone do! But, now he has a strong support system that back him up in whatever dreams he wants to achieve. He made something positive out of a negative situation. He went the opposite direction than I think a lot of people would have. It would have been easier to use his past as an excuse, but instead, he uses it as motivation! He wants his children to have the opposite from what he had. I love him for the fire he has within!

Makeup
Mike has a birthmark on his eyelid and it goes down a little below his eye. Yesterday Lyric pointed to it and said, "Silly daddy, that is only for girls!" She thought it was eyeshadow! When Mike told me this, it really hit a funny bone in me. The birthmark really isn't all that noticeable, but a lot of people will ask if he has a black eye!

10 Months
He is clapping in this picture.jpg)
.jpg)
Today, Paxton hits the ten month mark. One year ago, I was wondering why time was practically standing still, and today, I am wondering where in the world it has gone!
I just love my baby more and more each day. He does so many new things, it is almost hard to remember them all! Here are a few bits of information on him-
- He is crawling (has been for a month)
- He says 'hi' and waves
- He claps
- He can pull himself up onto things
- He has an appetite like his dad
- He sleeps fairly decent, it varies from 1-4 feedings a night, I guess 4 isn't so great!
- He loves avocado, mandarin oranges, peaches, olives, grapes, and strawberries
- He has five teeth, three top, two bottom
- He loves chasing Lyric around the house
We enjoy this little addition to our family so much. His sweet little spirit is felt very strongly. I love watching him learn new things!

The Gardens
Ryan joined us on our day out I wanted to do something fun today that got us out of the house. So, Mike suggested going to the Forestiere's Underground Gardens. Jamie had been there a few weeks prior, so it really intrigued me.
It was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen! Not too many people know about it because they don't advertise. The lady said they would not be able to accommodate the crowds if they did, so it's spread by word of mouth.
It was about an hour long tour of this underground living quarters this man single-handidly made. Originally, it was 80 acres. Due to buildings and freeways, it has been cut down to about five. I was just in awe at the work this man did. He had a tree that grew seven different types of citrus! Here is the website that describes it better that I can! http://http://www.undergroundgardens.info/
Avatar

Lyric and Mike have certain things that bond them together, daddy daughter things that mommy isn't involved with. Watching Avatar is one of them. It is a cartoon series that has been shown on Nickelodeon. I don't really know how to describe it, just kind of weird to me! But, they absolutely love watching it together. I am surprised by how much Lyric has gotten into it.
Yesterday, we were at Dollar Tree. That store can be a nightmare to take a child into because they want EVERYTHING they see! Lyric had already picked out her one item and we were waiting in line to check out. She saw the stickers and wanted some. I told her no because she had already picked her treat out. Then she said, "Look mom, Avatar stickers!" How could I pass those up! Avatar isn't like Disney Princesses or High School Musical, where you see everything possible with that logo on it.
When we pulled into the driveway, the above pictures are what I saw! It actually scared me at first! I looked in the rear view mirror and saw her face covered in stickers. Now the lovely things adorn my kitchen wall!
