Sometimes.....

My analogy for today:

Sometimes I feel like I am the momma to a big chocolate lab, who needs tons of space to run, play, and burn off some excess energy.....
(adorable picture courtesy of my sister, Jamie)
yet all I have for him is a fenced in box!

Five Months of Progression

1 Month

2 Months

3 Months

4 Months

5 Months

Today Kylee turns five months. I know everyone says it, but I really cannot grasp how fast time has flown by. I commend myself for soaking up every minute, of every single day. I have watched this sweet baby grow, and grow, and GROW some more! Every month, I have put her in this blue chair and taken her picture. It's fun to see how she's grown!
Kylee has such a sweet spirit about her. She smiles with her whole body, and it's quite infectious!

-She typically does a twelve hour stretch at night, waking up once to eat
-Naps are hardly existent for her, if she does an hour, I am utterly shocked
-Rolls belly to back, but not back to belly, yet
-Still only on momma's milk, I'm in no rush to start solids :)
-Likes to be put in her bed to fall asleep on her own
-Has no problem taking a bottle of pumped milk when I'm not around
-Has a huge need to suck, so she likes her binky
-Drools an abnormal amount, teeth coming soon?

I'm not sure about her height and weight at this point, we haven't gone in for shots yet. Before I can blink, she'll be sitting, then crawling, then walking! Lyric and Paxton adore their baby sister. They are so sweet and gentle with her. Lyric is very helpful and Paxton loves to share with her.

Blessing Day

September 26:

Kylee was able to get blessed in the same dress that Lyric wore. They were both three months when they were blessed, so it worked out perfectly. Mike did a great job, but had to stop it a little sooner than he wanted to, because she started crying. She was trying to sit up and do crunches the entire time, the girl doesn’t like to be flat on her back!

Don’t you….

Don’t you just want to take a little nibble out of this baby, cause I sure do!

First Day

August 19:

I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone so excited to start school. I think she would’ve spent the night in her classroom if I would have let her! I had mixed emotions about leaving her on the first day, but I knew that she was so ready for it, and that helped a lot. It was a strange feeling knowing that for six hours, five days a week, she was completely out of my care. I feel so good about her teacher, and know that she is in great hands. We walked into her classroom, gave her a kiss goodbye, and she was ready to learn!

Meet the Teacher

August 18:

We were so thrilled when we received the letter in the mail telling us who Lyric’s kindergarten teacher was going to be. She found out she got Mrs. Bergstrom. We got to go as a family and meet her and see the classroom the day before school started. She is such a sweet teacher. Lyric was so incredibly excited to take a tour of the class and see where she was going to sit.

While we were talking to Mrs. Bergstrom, I looked over and noticed Paxton hiding on the floor. He looked up and had frosting on his mouth. He had found a cupcake a student brought for the teacher, and swiped his finger through it to taste it. I was so embarrassed! I apologized and wondered why the heck he had done that!

Paxton was acting shy and hiding behind me.

Sleeping Habits

P1030298

There’s one sure way to know Lyric and Paxton are siblings, look on their beds. They both sleep with an abnormal amount of “things.” Lyric started this at a young age, and Paxton seems to be following suit. Scarves, Calliou backpack, blankets, Mickey Mouse, froggy backpack, and typically some sort of ball, car, or sword. It’s not worth the fight, but I can’t help but wonder how comfortable it can really be to share your bed with that much STUFF!

Mooney Grove Park

August 14:

Just after I had Kylee, Mike discovered this fun park with the kids. He wanted us all to go back as a family to feed the ducks there. We also discovered that they had little paddle boats you could rent for 30 minutes. Even though it was way too hot, the kids had lots of fun. They ask to go back quite often. They were a bit apprehensive of the ducks at first, but loved it pretty quick!

Time Out?

This is what you get when you put a three year old boy on time out in his mommy and daddy’s room. He goes into their bathroom and opens up and spills every nail polish he can find :)
