Disneyland '08

We decided to follow last year's tradition and go to Disneyland the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Last year we had good luck, so we did it again. I love it because it's not middle of the summer hot, and this time I didn't even need a sweater. I really like being able to see it decorated for Christmas.
The day went really well, considering Paxton slept for about 25 minutes the whole day!

First ride, waiting for Peter Pan, they had "technical difficulties," but we waited it out, we knew the line wouldn't get any shorter as the day went on!

Waiting in line can be so hard to do!

Mike took them on the carousel, Lyric claims this was her favorite ride! I could have paid a dollar to have her ride the carousel at the mall, just kidding :)

Last year Lyric was a little too short for Splash Mountain, so he was very excited when she met the height requirements this year! Don't worry, she went very willingly and actually liked it!

It was actually quite hard to tell if Paxton was enjoying himself, this was the expression on his face just about the whole day! Just a little laid back!
Desperate times call for desperate measures, even if it means an enormous stick of cotton candy covering your kids from head to toe! As yummy as it was, this was not consumed in one sitting!

The reason to be at Disneyland, the Princesses! Lyric promised she wouldn't be shy this time. She was completely enamoured by them! Paxton also had to sneak in on a picture.

Lyric was really trying hard on these two things at Toon Town!

Autopia, Lyric rode with Mike, and Paxton rode with me. This was probably Paxton's favorite!

Mike carried Lyric and Paxton like this most of the day, so I gave it a try, I lasted about two minutes!

Lyric insisted we go on this one. I let her go with Mike so they could spin. I went with Paxton and we just sat there! That was almost too much for me. I don't know if it's getting older or having two kids, but my body just can't take the spinning anymore!

Paxton's Mickey Mouse light saber, he loved this thing! $5, probably the cheapest item you will find at Disneyland!

Sadly, our one and only family picture. It wasn't that cold, Lyric just wanted to utilize the warm items I packed just in case it got cold!

Father & Son

Jamie took this picture of Mike and Paxton at the park yesterday.
I thought it was the cutest thing I'd ever seen! Thanks, J!

Halloween Pics

Paxton was Peter Pan, Tiffani made his hat!

Lyric was a High School Musical cheerleader. Tiffani made her hair accessories!

This picture cracks me up! Tessa is looking at Paxton like, "Dude, chill out!"

I am feeling drowned with my memory card and how many pictures it holds that I need to do posts on! I guess I find this post easy because the disc of pictures was mailed to me!
I have a lot of catching up to do, but I thought I'd at least post these. A few weeks ago, I went to Arizona to visit my best friend, Tiffani. Her sister in law's friend is a photographer, and was doing Halloween pictures. Here are some cute ones. Keep in mind, Paxton was NOT happy at all the entire time!

Straws

This is about the most random post ever! Today, I used the last straw out of this tiny bag of 1500. We got this bag at Costco 4 1/2 years ago! The best $3.00 ever spent!

Cuteness

This girl loves her bling! She loves to collect every piece of jewelry and wear it out!
No nap=falling asleep in the car on the way home from grandma's!

Shot Time, Again

No, it wasn't cold in the slightest, Lyric has just been dying to wear her scarf, and since today was going to FINALLY be a day where she wouldn't melt, I let her wear it.

Paxton had his one year shots today. As I've said before, I intentionally delay them a few months. With Lyric, I just did them, and honestly didn't think too much. For some reason, lately, I have been feeling so paranoid and torn. I know he needs them, yet I am scared I am somehow harming him! Anyways, the poor guy got 5 shots! Somehow they missed two on his nine month ones, so they gave those to him today too. I always feel like such a mean mom while he's getting his little legs poked! He did so well, considering!
Weight: 27 lb 10 oz, 75%
Height: 37 1/2 in, 95%
I have to say, I was a little bit surprised by his weight. I guess he just came out so big, and then continued to grow at a pretty fast speed, and now he is leveling off. Also, I think staring to walk is making him lean out a little more.

Puddles

This little guy has been obsessed with taking off his diaper. I don't mind a few minutes of "airing out," but if it is too much longer, then I end up with little pools of pee all over! The other day he peed on the bathroom floor, then he so kindly found a towel and started doing his version of helping clean it up! The worst part is having him remove a diaper with more than just pee, and then having mommy proceed to accidentally step in it :)

My friend, Tiffani, gave me the brilliant idea to put his diaper on backwards! So, we tried that last night, we'll see how long we can out smart him!

My Genes

Growing up, my sister, Carly, and I would drink red wine vinegar until we were sick! We would literally pour ourselves cups and see how much we could drink! I remember feeling quite nauseous afterwards a few of the times.
Well, it should be no surprise to me that Lyric loves vinegar. I love to mix vinegar, olive oil, and seasonings, and then put it on my chicken burritos with buffalo sauce. She has seen me do it many times, probably about every day, and so she insisted on pouring onto her quesadilla, and then taking a few spoonfuls for herself. The next day she asked if I would make her the "sauce" so she could drink it!

A Funny

I hope this isn't TMI, I just thought it was too funny not to share! So, on Friday, Mike hung out with Paxton while I was at the dentist with Lyric. Lots of times, Paxton will hang out with Mike on our recliner. So Mike said that Paxton got onto his tummy, getting ready to slide down. On his way, he stopped, put his face down, and bit. What he bit, you might ask? Well, something on a man that is highly sensitive to pain. Mike said Paxton had his jaws clamped and wasn't letting go. Mike started yelping in pain, which in turn, made Paxton get a little offended and start crying, which in turn, made him let go! For some reason, this story hit my funny bone. I laughed until I cried!

Sharing

Lyric is having to become very used to the idea of sharing with her brother. Most times she does it willingly. These pictures are of their Saturday morning appetizer, nerds! The second she pulled out the box, he darted over to her because he knew she had something yummy! She, very nicely, let him pick one nerd at a time out of her hand!

Books

Like Lyric at this age, Paxton loves books. He will bring them to you and want to be read to. Often times, Lyric is such a nice big sister, and will read to him. He loves these pop up books we have. The only problem is that sometimes he likes to pull just a little too hard and rip them!

Pa-thetic

Daddy left me!

Lately, Paxton gets severe anxiety attacks when someone leaves the house without him. It doesn't matter whether it's Mike or I, he freaks. I find it a little humorous. He can actually sense when one of us is about to leave. He starts putting his arms up like he is ready to come too. The tantrum lasts about 60 seconds, and then he begins to wonder why he even started crying in the first place! Silly boy :)

I Know, I know......

I know I said I wasn't going to be able to do my shopping runs again today, but I racked my brain, and figured out a way to do some more transactions! Lyric and I headed off to a different town then I went to yesterday. We hit four Walgreens and did 7 transactions.

Total Retail Value: $670.09*

Total Paid: -$41.46

*To be fair, those glucose monitors were normally $79.99, on sale for $9.95, and then I had a $9.95 coupon. So about $240 of the retail value was for the monitors. Those suckers are expensive! Not pictured is also two gallons of milk.
I promise I won't make this turn into my shopping trip blog. I think I have just finally gotten a kick in the butt to re-enter the blogging world! I need to start my journaling again!

Dentist Trip

Yesterday, Lyric went to the dentist for a check up. This is only her second time going to the dentist, bad mom, I know! Both times I have sat there crossing my fingers that she doesn't have the horrific mouth I do! Thank goodness, both times, the dentist has said her mouth looks great.

She did so good. I forgot to bring my camera :( They did lots of xrays and then cleaned them. She laid there like a champ. I prepped her so she wouldn't be too nervous.

When we were done, the dentist said he was going to get her a special prize for having a perfect mouth. A prize it was, a $20 gift certificate to the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory! I was expecting a toothbrush and a sticker, at the most! I happily accepted it, knowing that I could get some YUMMY chocolate covered strawberries, and a treat for Lyric, since it is her gift certificate! I guess he figured that's the least he could do with how much money I've "donated" to him through my visits for my poor teeth!

Excessive

OK, so I actually feel a little embarrassed posting this picture. I think it will let the world know that I have a shopping addiction! But, how can you help it when you can find such good deals!?!?! Mike had an evening with the kids and I had an evening with Walgreens! I was just about to get off the freeway at my first location, when I realized I forgot my coupons! My trip would have been pointless, so I had to go back home and get them. About a 30 mile detour!

I won't give every detail, because this would turn into the world's longest post. This consisted of four different Walgreens and 9 transactions. Sound crazy? Well, it is. It really does take a lot of work and preparation, but it feels worth it! I am excited for Christmas this year because I really want to be able to share my findings with the less fortunate!
Total Retail Value: $461.65
Total Paid: -$45.38, yes, after coupons, rebates and sales, I came ahead that much. I am still trying to figure out how that is possible! If I had enough coupons, I would want to go do the same thing tomorrow. It's probably a good thing I don't! Mike is starting to get worried about where everything will go!
