Family Fun

Paxton and daddy catching a short snooze!

Yesterday after Stake Conference, we went over to Jamie and Tucker's to hang out and do some activities with the kids. There was pumpkin carving and painting, turkey decorating, and best of all, sugar cookie decorating. I really think I ate at least ten! It is so much fun watching Lyric have such a blast with her cousins.

Latest Quest

Well, I am in search for a new vacuum. Last week, I returned my vacuum to Costco that I have had since December! They are so great when it comes to returning things. I started having a few complications, and so I, somehow, still had the receipt and returned it for the full refund!

I am really leaning towards a Dyson. Jamie has one and I really like it. One of my favorite features, as silly as this sounds, is how huge the dirt collecting container is, and how easy it is to empty. Costco has a Dyson, but it is over $500! I just don't think I can stomach that much. Jamie got hers refurbished like 1 1/2 years ago and it has done great. So, I think that is what I am heading towards doing. I am now on a search to find a great deal on one. I am such a cheap skate and just know that somewhere out there, I can find a steal on one! If anyone out there in blogland has any helpful suggestions, let me know!

Flashback Friday

My best friend, Tiffani, is coming to visit me next week with her two kiddos. I have been reminiscing through old pictures of us and came across this one. It is from my graduation day, June 2001. Don't mind my swollen cheek, I had some funky bump that lasted a few weeks.

Nightly Routines

Just about every night at bedtime, Lyric loves to run in her room and hide from Mike in her ladybug clothes hamper. He comes in and pretends to not know where she is at. She gets the BIGGEST kick out of it! Tonight Mike had Paxton join her in the hamper for a few pictures!

Pax and Pey

Today, Peyton was at our house hanging out while her sisters were at piano. I had to pull out my camera and take some pictures of these two. Paxton is really starting to enjoy the attention he receives from Peyton. He looks at her and smiles while she is "playing doll" with him! It is so incredibly cute to watch!

I love my cousin!

Cute cousins!

New Header

I have to give my sister, Jamie, credit for creating my new header! I love it :) I am nowhere near as talented as she is and could not have come up with that on my own! Thanks so much for making my blog look so cute!!!

Mr. Talker

These past couple of days, Paxton has really done some major changing! He absolutely loves to talk all of the time. It is the cutest thing in the world. He holds very long conversations with anyone that will lend a listening ear! You can tell in some of these pictures that he is talking! Who ever knew that such babble could be so cute and amusing to listen to!
On a side note: Every time I am out, I get at least one comment on Paxton's hair. Obviously, since I see it everyday, I am used to it. I forget that he does have quite a bit for his age! People ask if I "do" his hair. Nope, it is just wild and crazy on its own! They also comment on his "red" hair. I do have to say that it gets more red in it by the day!

Little Gamer

As most of you know, Mike LOVES video games. So, of course it would only be natural for Lyric to show some interest in them too! She loves getting involved and playing some of them with Mike. He gets an absolute kick out of it and feels very proud that this is a trait acquired from him. We all know that the only games I will play are the old school Mario from the Nintendo!

Flashback Friday

Since Lyric and Paxton were both put in the saucer for the first time at three months, I thought it would be fun to look at the pictures and compare. I wish I had the exact shot of both of them, but this will do!

I've Been Tagged

I've been tagged by Tiffani, so here it goes!

It is required to post these rules before you give the facts-

1. You must list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life for each letter in your middle name.

2. If you don't have a middle name use the one that you would have liked to have.

M - McDonald's chocolate chip cookies. These are part of the reason why I still nurse, to burn off the calories that I consume eating them, almost every single day! They are like no other! When I tell Mike to bring me home a "surprise," he knows this is what I mean. I sometimes don't have the guts to say "McDonald's chocolate chip cookies please," because it makes me feel guilty! And no, I am not just talking about 1 cookie, I'm talking their 3 pack that is "cheaper than purchasing them individually," but it's not, it's the same exact price!

I - Sonic's ice. I literally go through an eight pound bag about four times a week! It all started when I was pregnant with Paxton and was craving ice and baby powder. I've always been anemic and knew this was a part of it. I assumed the craving would go away after I had him, but it hasn't! Hey, it counteracts my cookies!!!!

C - My Children. Who knew little people could bring such utter joy! Who knew you could love them so incredibly much! Who knew that their needs and desires could so naturally come before your own without a single thought! Who knew that loving someone so much could actually hurt sometimes!

H - Hawaii. I have never been there, but I swear that one of these days I will go!

E - Ericka. One of my best friends growing up. I have not spoken to her in ten years. I searched for her everywhere and could not find any info on her. Now to the weird part of my personality, about a year ago I saw her at Costco. Any normal person would have gone up to her. But, me being me, I avoided the situation. I let my irrational thoughts and fears get the best of me. What if she didn't recognize me? What if the girl she was with was more than just her friend? What would you even say to someone after ten years? Oh well!

L - Labor. I have to say that this is my favorite part of the whole pregnancy process! It might sound crazy, but both of mine have been so smooth and uncomplicated. I seriously would be a surrogate delivery woman if there were such thing, no joke! Keep in mind, I do get epidurals, which have both worked wonders!

L - Laughing. This is a major reaction of mine when I am nervous. I can get this uncontrollable, tear-streaming down my face, type of laugh. It sure does not work well in certain situations.

E - Exclusively pumped. I did this with Lyric for six months. Breastfeeding did not work out well with her, but I was so determined for her to get the breast milk, so I chose this option. It was A LOT of work, kind of like a literal part time job. I only stopped at that point because I ended up in the ER with the worst mastitis in the world.

Now I get to tag three people!!!

LyLy and Pax

Lyric loves holding Paxton, he's getting a little heavy for her!

Earlier today, she was reading to him. You can see him looking over at the book!

Lyric got the game, Hi-Ho Cherry-Oh today. She is obsessed! She was playing it over and over with Mike tonight before bed. Paxton joined in with them and was staring at Lyric and giving the biggest smiles! He loves to be involved.

Last night, I put Paxton's exer-saucer together. Jamie was SOOO nice to replace the one that I let her borrow for Peyton- THANK YOU :) I first put Lyric in hers at three months, so I thought I'd try Paxton in his! He actually seemed a little interested in some of the toys. The height was perfect, his head is still just a little wobbly. This was one of my favorite "stations" with Lyric.

Flashback Friday

This picture makes me laugh! For those of you who don't know, Mike and I met on LDS Singles.com. I was living with Jamie and Tucker in Utah and decided to give it a try. Anyways, this is one of the pictures I had on my profile. It initially ended up being Mike's favorite picture of me! Too funny. He really liked when I did my hair curly.
This picture was taken five years ago this weekend! Carly had driven up with me to Utah to help me move. We were eating at Ricardo's, one of Jamie's favorite places, which no longer exists, RIP :(

Three Months Old

Look at those lips!
Lyric likes holding him now that he is a little more sturdy

Today Paxton turns three months! I cannot believe it! I specifically remember the three month mark with Lyric. Everything started feeling easier. There was more of a routine and I knew, more or less, what to expect with her schedule. I feel the same with Paxton. Gone are the delirious days of psychoticness, if that is even a word! I love the progress that has been made.
Some tid bits about him-

- He has been sleeping 12-7 every night pretty consistently for the past month!
- He is the biggest talker ever, it is his favorite thing to do
- He loves Lyric more than anything!
- He is tipping the scales at 20 pounds, he has officially doubled his birth weight
- The swing is still his bed 85% of the time!
- He has yet to roll over
- I no longer dread putting him in his car seat for fear that he will scream the whole time!
- I swear he will be sitting before long, he is so strong

I know there are other fun things I just can't think of at the moment! I am excited for all of the new milestones yet to come!

Day at the Dentist

Lyric went to the dentist for the first time today. She has actually been very excited to go because a few weeks ago, Jamie took her to watch Jordyn and Lexi at their dentist. I know this helped her a lot.
The assistant took two x-rays and cleaned her teeth. She was very relaxed and did not mind a bit. Then the dentist came in to look at her teeth. She did well, but had a bit of an apprehensive look on her face. As you can see in the second picture, she looks just a little tense! The dentist kept telling her how beautiful her teeth were and she got a sticker for being 100% cavity free. I sure hope she has inherited Mike's teeth and not mine! That will save us millions of dollars in the future!

Quite the Accomplishment

Those little ant-like creatures are human beings climbing!

This past weekend, Mike had the opportunity to accompany Tucker and the Scouts, which included Ryan, on a trip to Half Dome. After hearing his story, I can say that any amount of money offered to me to do the hike would be turned down! I literally got anxiety looking at the pictures and hearing about it! He said at one point he was thinking about Lyric, Paxton, and I and hoping he was going to see us again! I am proud of him for making this huge accomplishment!
