I think I've mentioned before, but Paxton really enjoys tucking in his shirts. It kind of drives me batty, but it's one of those things I just have to let slide!

Another celebration

We meant to do this celebration with two of Lyric's friends before Christmas, but it just never happened.
Claire and Sheri are in her class at church. Claire is also in her class at school. We all went to a place called Main Event. They have bowling, mini golf, laser tag, pool, games and lots of other stuff. They also happen to be the biggest rip off in the whole world.
We ended up doing laser tag and mini golf. I couldn't bring myself to shell out nearly $80 simply to bowl. They all enjoyed themselves. It makes me realize how old my ears are getting. It felt like there were about ten extra kids rather than just two.
Afterward, we went to the SAMs food court to eat. I figured pizza and hot dogs were a good cheap option. $14 for all seven of us to eat is pretty unbeatable!
Then we came back to the house and had cupcakes and the girls played Just Dance. Lyric really enjoyed herself and time with friends.
While Lyric was at school, Kylee helped me make cupcakes. Lyric wanted chocolate with chocolate.

Dinner

Kylee waited patiently for her gourmet dinner of honey bunches of oats, which she took exactly 1.5 bites of.

LyLy

Poor Ly came into my room last week in the middle of the night. She said her tummy hurt. It's not totally uncommon for her to come in with an upset stomach or a bad dream. So, of course I just told her to go potty and try to sleep.
I woke up in the morning and she was not feeling well. She had been hit with the same thing Paxton had the week prior. She stayed home that day to recoup. Thank goodness it was pretty short lived.

Wrestler

Here's Packy ready to head out for wrestling. He has practice            Tuesday-Thursday evenings. I feel lucky that we found wrestling shoes that fit. They only had two pair and the other ones made me laugh when he tried them on. The top strap literally wouldn't Velcro. His "little" ankles were just too darn thick. Him and Lyric got these 64 ounce water igloos. They're perfect and keep the water nice and cold. I wanted to do the gallon size ones, but they would have hardly been able to drink out of them, haha.

Answers

I felt such a big amount of relief when this note came home in Paxton's "Tuesday folder," which I a weekly folder that comes home with various papers to sign and grades assignments.
After my frustration with Paxton's reading yesterday, I was expressing to Mike that I was beginning to be concerned. I was going to email his teacher and see what could be done. So to see that he gets to have three day a week reading tutoring is awesome! It made me feel good knowing that his teacher was already on the same page without is needing to even communicate.
He's such a smart boy and I don't want him to start feeling frustrated and have that hinder further learning.  He really excels in school and just needs a little boost in reading.

Aging

Paxton's homework and reading books will for sure continue to age me at a rapid speed. Lyric offered to help today, and got super frustrated too. It's a packet he turns in on Friday, but with sports, we try to get it done on Monday's so it's out of the way. And why does he choose books with 61 pages?! That's a whole days worth of reading for him!!!

Blech

The other day at Costco, I bought some tilapia. I had found a recipe online that literally had been well reviewed over 6,000 times. I figured this would be the recipe that would make me love fish. Mayo, fresh lemon, grated parm cheese, bread crumbs, and different seasoned. Broiled for a few minutes on each side. Easy enough. Well, I think I'm destined to not like fish. It wasn't gross, per se, I just didn't care for it. There wasn't a seton fish flavor either. I think it's mostly a texture thing.
Of course Kylee didn't touch it, Lyric didn't love it and neither did Paxton. At least there's leftovers for Mike! I also made homemade rice pilaf and the dumb rice didn't cool all the way. Good reason to never put a lot of effort in to dinner! At least the broccoli was well liked...

Silly

Today we went to lunch at Chik fil a. I always put salt and lots of pepper on my side of the fries. Kylee normally makes sure to steer clear of the weird black specks.  Well, today she learned it was pretty good. She was rolling her fries in every last dot of pepper she could find. The pepper specks on her teeth and mouth made me laugh.

Sheet Cake

I made this evil goodness today. I don't think there's anything better!

Broken

Poor Lyric had her glasses break this morn. She had to wear her old ones to church. She was not a happy camper. I ran to Walmart when we got home and bought a repair kit. $3.88 is cheaper than  a new pair! I felt very old trying to deal with those tiny screws and screwdriver!! But, it worked!

Sass

She loves her purple dress. Can't beat Costco's clearance prices! She's also loving sunbeams, thank goodness. It's cute to hear her talk about what she's learning.

Kyky loves creating people with her sticker book.

Breakfast

Carrots with ranch, strawberries, and chocolate milk. Kylee's breakfast of choice.

Snuggles

Kyky loves "snuggles."  If she had her way, I'd never leave the couch. Lots of mornings we take the kids to school, and then come back and hang out for a bit under the electric blanket.
