Cousin Fun

August 10:

My Aunt Kelly, mom’s sister, came for a visit with her children. It was a fun few days filled with lots of cousin playing, swimming, and eating! My parents had nine kids, nine and under taking over their house.

Michael Jackson

Mike loves putting on music from his ipod for the kids when he takes them out. He has about every Michael Jackson song on there, and so he started playing some of those songs for them. Lyric and Paxton got hooked! It is so cute to watch how excited they get when they hear one of his songs on the radio. Lyric has really taken a liking to his music. She’ll put on some head phones and listen to his music for as long as she can. She even loves to watch the latest movie about him, “This is It.” I guess his music really does reach and touch all different ages!

Brotherly Love

August 4:

This boy loves his baby sister. Besides my mom’s dog Bernice, she is the only living thing that he is gentle with! I just love watching him with her. Before she was born, I often worried that he’d be rough with her. Like, possibly think she was a form of a ball that he could spiral across the room! He talks to her and gives her sweet kisses. It has scared me a bit, the few times he’s walked into the bathroom to show me he’s holding her! I try not to overreact and just tell him what a good job he’s doing, then quickly get her from him!

Stages and Phases

August 4:

My mom bought this Baby Einstein play mat when Lyric was a baby. It was an absolute life saver for me. I’d put her on it, and it’d buy me enough time to pump before I left for work, or to finish up getting ready. She really loved it. I also used it with Paxton. There’s so many fun things you can hang from it for the babies to look at. My mom pulled it out for me when she was watching my kids. Kylee seemed mesmorized, and a bit overwhelmed, by all of the bright colors and shapes!

Tooth Fairy Time

On July 17,Lyric lost her first tooth. She was so very excited for the Tooth Fairy to come and leave her a surprise in exchange for her tooth. It was so wiggly, but at first she didn’t want to let me pull it out. Finally, she let me do one good yank, and it was out! Definitely the beginning stages of looking older and more mature. Two days later, she lost her second tooth!

This girl inherited her father’s inability to keep her eyes open for pictures :)

Paxton and Blake

P1020827 Lyric and Paxton have some neighbor friends that live a few houses down. They love going back and forth to each other’s houses. Jillian is Lyric’s age, and Blake is Paxton’s age. The girls thought it would be silly to dress their brothers up one day. I’m sure Paxton will LOVE looking at this picture when he gets older!

First Sunday at Church

July 18:

Kylee had her first adventure to church at one month old. I was ready to get back into the groove of church again, knowing it’d feel a bit different with three kids. Sundays feel a little more chaotic, but don’t they always? I notice that when I’m up early and have a good attitude, it really helps set the mood in the home. Unfortunately, I’m not always in a Mary Poppins type of mood :)

Fresno Temple

We’ve been wanting to take the kids to walk around the grounds of the temple for some time now. The Fresno temple is only about 25 miles away from us. So last Saturday, we got some lunch and then went there and let the kids walk around and take some pictures.

They knew we couldn’t go inside, but they had fun looking at all of the beautiful flowers and chasing a butterfly. It was quite a hot day, so we didn’t stay too terribly long. I love seeing how much these little minds are capable of learning and soaking things in.

Baby Swing

July 10, 2010:

P1020723

She looks a bit out of it in this picture!

My other two kids have absolutely loved the swing. It was a total lifesaver for me. In fact, Paxton slept in the swing at night for a few months. It was the only place he’d sleep, therefore, the only way I could get some rest! So far, Kylee is okay with her swing in small doses. She’s fine with it for a bit, but then lets us know she’s done. That can obviously change, since she’s still so young. It does buy me enough time to take a quick shower, or to make the kids lunch.

This was one of the adorable onesies my mom made for Miss Kylee. I have to say, it’s so much fun dressing little girls!
